Free SSL Certificates from Let’s Encrypt

SSL certificates encrypt the communication between your website visitor and the server. Considered as must-have only for ecommerce and corporate sites in the past, nowadays, having an SSL certificate is a requirement for any website. Starting from July 2018 with the release of Chrome version 68, Google’s browser started marking all HTTP sites as ‘Not Secure’. The same policy was later applied in all other major browsers. With this dominating trend, having an SSL certificate on your website has now become an absolute necessity. In fact, not having one could lead to a decreased page ranking on Google’s search results.

You can easily enable a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate via the SSL/HTTPS > Let’s Encrypt certificates section at the Control Panel. They adhere to the same security standards and provide the same level of encryption as commercial certificates. You can activate a Let’s Encrypt certificate for any hostname associated with your hosting account provided that it has been pointed to our server.

We offer free SSL certificates from Let’s Encrypt, which can be activated from the Control Panel – SSL/HTTPS section. Note that once you have installed the certificate, you could either force the HTTP connections to your website or configure the application (on which your site is based) to work over HTTPS. To force the use of SSL, navigate to the Control Panel – SSL/HTTPS – Force HTTPS. Once you’ve done that, you should ensure that your website works correctly over HTTPS. Having mixed content errors is the most common issue. It happens when you load resources over plain HTTP, like images or fronts. You would have to update these links to HTTPS.
