Hosting Services Expiration and Renewal

On this page, you will find information about what happens when hosting services by
Silver Spruce Hosting expire.

Expiration of hosting services

Each hosting service we offer has an expiration date. If it is not renewed, the service is subject to suspension after this due date.

In order to avoid downtime for your website, we would recommend that you always renew your hosting services prior to their expiration date. If any technical issues occur while your order is being processed, renewing might take up to 48 hours (in some cases). Renewing in advance will make sure that any such issues won’t delay the renewal and lead to service suspension.

What happens when my domain name expires?

Different registries have different policies about domain expirations. In general, it is best to renew your domain name before its expiration date in order to avoid losing the registration and other technical difficulties.

For domain registrations that have expired, there are special considerations for some top-level domains (TLDs) that you should have in mind:

What happens when my hosting service expires?

The following events occur at the end of the life cycle of a hosting account:

The timing of these events depends on the hosting plan and billing cycle of your account.

What happens when my SSL Certificate expires?

The validity of an SSL certificate ends on its expiration date. This means that if the certificate is not renewed on time, browsers will start to show warnings to your visitors that their connection is not secure.

You should have in mind that renewing an SSL certificate may take a few days to complete. If you do not want security warnings to be shown to visitors, you should renew your SSL certificates at least a week in advance.

What happens when my Advanced Services expire?

Advanced Services are additional services we perform for your website. When an advanced service you have subscribed for expires, it is discontinued. It can be enabled again at any time.
